How often should my watch be serviced?
Service intervals depend upon usage and exposure to elements. However it is generally recommended that luxury mechanical timepieces are serviced every 4-6 years.
If you have an Omega watch ensure that you use an Omega certified service centre like us. Do not use unaccredited watchmakers as they may not be qualified to repair your watch and may be using fake unreliable parts.
A 24 month warranty is offered on all full services.
Maintaining your watch is important, if a watch is neglected this can cause a build up of dirt, dust and oil, in turn this can cause damage to the watch movement, hands, dial etc…
I have a Quartz (battery operated) watch, why do I need the seals replaced and how often should they be replaced?
It is recommended that your watch battery is replaced every two years. If a battery is left in a watch too long it can leak and cause significant damage to the watch movement.
On replacing your watch battery it is recommended that the watch is re-sealed. This involves replacing the case back seal, glass seal and the crown seal. In the case of some watches the entire crown will need to be replaced.
We only use genuine brand seals and therefore these have to be ordered in from the relevant brand, I,e Omega, Tag Heuer, Tissot etc… Be wary of other watchmakers who claim to be able to re-seal your watch while you wait. They may in fact not be replacing all of the seals or may be using fake parts/seals.
Re-sealing the watch ensures that the movement remains free of dust, moisture, dirt and water. This ensures the movement remains performing effectively and the dial, hands etc are safe from damage.
